SASP Jump Start Programme

Somerset Activity and Sports Partnership’s Jump Start Programme supports young people aged 8-18 years old in Somerset, offering them an opportunity to engage in positive experiences through sports and physical activity. They provide 1:1 Sports Mentors who work with Young People, to develop their confidence, self-esteem and life skills and support them into a Community Sports Club.

SASP now have a Jump Start Mentor who will be covering the Frome area (looking to extend to other parts of Mendip over time) who will introduce young people to physically active provision in sports through linking with sports clubs, or other active youth sessions with the aim of them becoming part of that club. Initially they will work 1:1 with a sports mentor and then with a trained volunteer within the chosen sports club. They already have a number of community sports clubs in the Frome area who are committed to supporting Jump Start and have a trained volunteer ready to support these young people into their club.

Nominations are welcome, simply fill out the form on our ‘How to nominate’ page on their website.
