The Frome branch of the Royal Naval Association is now over 60 years old and is working to maintain its membership levels against the current trend of declining service associations. Although some distance from the sea and naval ports, Frome has always supported the Royal Navy. This was demonstrated by its adoption of HM S/M Thunderbolt, formerly HM S/M Thetis back in February 1942.
The branch has organised Royal Marines Band concerts held in the Frome Memorial Theatre. Funds that have been raised by this event and others have helped us to donate monies to local and national service charities. Many of the members are also very active in Frome’s community and charity organisations from the Frome Memorial Theatre to Frome Hospital, Dr Barnardo’s and sheltered accommodation.
To give you some idea of the diversity in the branch you are invited to come along to a branch night and meet us.
