Frome Museum is located in the centre of the town in a historic building. It was built for the Frome Literary and Scientific Institution and features local and industrial history collections. It also offers extensive Library and Archive collections.

The museum has a permanent exhibition on history of Frome, as well as temporary exhibitions on various related subjects. The collections also include local archaeological and historical artefacts related to the historical development of Frome.

Their extensive archive and resources are open to the public for research purposes (by appointment only). Alternatively, much of their archive has been catalogued and is online through their website.

The museum is run entirely by volunteers and more are always welcomed.

Free entry (donations accepted).

Open March-November, Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 2pm (also open 10am – 2pm on Independent Market Sundays) with a special weekend opening in December.
