Frome Art Society was founded 1979 by Charles and Vera Appleyard and their friend Charles Hopkins.
They wanted to encourage local people to get involved in learning about, making and appreciating art.
Today, the Society continues to work towards those aims and more, by:
- promoting appreciation and enjoyment of a wide range of visual arts
- encouraging participation in the making of art
- organising opportunities for learning and practising creative skills
- facilitating connections and conversations between members
Their programme of events includes practical workshops, talks and demonstrations, exhibitions, outdoor painting days, and a Friday drop-in creative session.
Members can enjoy all of these activities, while talks and demonstrations are open to anyone interested.
