Council seeks person to lead sustainability work

Frome Town Council is looking for someone to pick up the reins of our award winning sustainability work whilst our Resilience Officer is on maternity leave.

The successful candidate will amongst other things have responsibility for the following projects:

  • promoting the Share Shop and the Community Fridge and supporting their ongoing operation
  • energy efficiency projects in schools
  • the introduction of the UK’s first community owned green energy tariff
  • encouraging the use of low carbon alternatives to the private car including buses, trains, electric cars and new charging points, walking and cycling

Peter Wheelhouse, Economic Development & Regeneration Manager said, “This is an exciting area of work that has already generated significant national interest.  This is particularly so with the Share Shop and Community Fridge.  We are now looking for someone with experience and knowledge in this area who can keep the momentum up whilst Anna Francis is on maternity leave.  If you think you might be the person we’re looking for, please get in touch.”

For more information and for the application pack please visit www.frometowncouncil.gov.uk/frome-town-council/job-opportunities/  The closing date is Wednesday 7 September.
