The Frome and Villages Local Community Network (LCN) is encouraging residents, community groups and parish councils to get involved in conversations about the issues that matter most across Frome and the surrounding villages.
The LCN brings together local councils, community organisations, public services and residents to share ideas, discuss challenges and explore solutions that can benefit communities across the area.
The network has recently appointed a new leadership team, with Frome Town Cllr Steve Tanner and Somerset Councillor Cllr Dawn Denton and serving as Co-Chairs, supported by Somerset Cllr Adam Boyden and Somerset Council’s LCN Co-ordinator, James Moore.
Cllr Steve Tanner said: “Many parishes in our area have issues, ideas and topics that cross parish boundaries. The LCN is a great forum for bringing everyone together, councillors, stakeholder groups and members of the public, to share concerns, ideas and solutions.”
The next LCN meeting will take place at Frome Town Hall on Thursday 1 October at 7pm and is open to everyone. The meeting will focus on youth provision across Frome and the 17 surrounding villages.
Cllr Dawn Denton said: “At our first meeting, we want to understand what opportunities are available for our young people, where there may be gaps in provision and how we can work together to support them. We encourage anyone interested in youth services, activities or support for teenagers to come along and join the conversation.”
