Frome Pride returns in June with a month-long programme of live performance, theatre and music, a community picnic and the first standalone Pride Parade since the festival began in 2022.
The celebrations begin on Sunday 7 June with the return of the Frome Pride Youth Stage Takeover at The Frome Independent, showcasing a new generation of LGBTQ+ performers and speakers from 11am to 3pm.
Thursday 11 June sees a production of The Luxurious Time: A Queer Love Story, a moving play written and performed by Martin Lewton, at the Merlin Theatre.
The season continues on Saturday 20 June with a Frome Pride community gathering at Rodden Meadow — an opportunity for people of all ages to come together, connect and celebrate inclusivity in a relaxed outdoor setting – with a picnic.
On Saturday 27 June, Frome Pride’s Pride Parade will make its way from Rook Lane Chapel and down Bath Street to the Frome Weekly Market Community Stage. The day will feature live music, guest speakers, food, drinks and community celebration, with support from Loud Mouth Café (formerly River House)
The season concludes that evening with the Frome Pride Finale Party at The Silk Mill, featuring DJs including Jennifer Grooves and Lord Cheese, alongside a cabaret show hosted by Remy with performances from Zina Fandel and Uncanny Sally.
Frome Pride organiser Rachel Haughey said “We’re really excited to host the biggest and best Frome Pride this year – book your tickets for the Merlin and Silk Mill and come along to join us at the Independent and for the picnic and, of course, the parade! Check the Frome Pride website for information about everything that’s happening.”
Frome Pride is supported by Frome Town Council, Frome FM, Cheese and Grain and a range of local organisations and community partners.
