Frome town councillors have been ‘popping up’ at Frome’s Saturday market since last autumn and will be available once a month throughout 2026 for anyone to drop by and speak about any topic of interest. In a departure from the usual time and place, the next ‘meet the councillors’ session will be at Frome Carnival Fun Day on 6 June from 12pm to 2pm, alongside the council’s stall, with games and information about services for local families.
Meet the councillor sessions are open to all residents and provide an opportunity to ask questions, raise local issues, share feedback on town matters or simply find out more about the work of the council. No appointment is needed; people are welcome to drop in at any point during the sessions.
Councillor Anita Collier said: “These sessions are a really valuable way for councillors to stay connected and hear directly from residents about what matters most to them. Whether people have a specific concern, an idea they’d like to share or simply want to find out more about what the council does, everyone is welcome. We know people are often busy, so having regular informal sessions like this makes it easier for residents to come along for a chat and be heard. Don’t forget you’re always welcome to attend council meetings, in person or via Zoom, and call or email us. Alternatively, drop into the town hall during office hours Monday to Friday to chat to our friendly staff team and leave messages for us if you’d like to.”
