Join Frome Community Bike Project for a Wheelie Good Day!

FCBP’s Emma Parker taking a cargo bike for a spin

This spring, Frome Community Bike Project is hosting a free, family-friendly fun day at their workshop on
Station Approach. On Sunday 22nd March, organisers look forward to welcoming locals and visitors
to Frome to come along and enjoy ‘A Wheelie Good Day’ between 10am and 2pm and learn all about
new and exciting cycling initiatives launching at the Project

Amongst the fun cycle-powered activities happening on the day will be a pedal-powered rocket
challenge with pedal powered music and bubbles! Plus the ever-popular smoothie bike where you
can make your own tasty fruit smoothie, and we’ll have the wonderful Mojo Moves to bring the
party atmosphere!

There will be plenty of activities for all the family, including free Bikeability taster sessions for children
to celebrate the arrival of the popular cycling safety courses to FCBP. Taster sessions can be
pre-booked here: www.buytickets.at/fromecommunitybikeproject.

The event will be showcasing the new bike hire schemes, funded by Great Western Railway and
housed in the purpose built structure near Frome Station. The smart on-street fleet offers the
community the opportunity to hire an e-cargo bike from OurBike and bikes from App-bike. Come and
have a go on the new bikes and feel that whizzy power!

Emma Parker from Frome Community Bike Project said “As we approach the end of our lottery-funded Cycle Together scheme, delivered in partnership with Green and Healthy Frome, we have
been busy planning some really exciting new activities to support people to cycle. We’ll continue to
offer our popular Book a Buddy and group bike rides, and servicing and repairs in our workshop. In
addition, we will have new hire bikes, a hire cargo bike, family bike rides and more inclusive
workshop sessions. 2026 is going to be big!”

It’s not an FCBP event without Dr Bike being on call ready to help out with free bike safety checks
plus our workshop mechanic will be giving bike maintenance demonstrations including how to repair
punctures, tighten brakes and tune gears.

Other activities include a children’s craft table and a well-stocked jumble box to have a rummage for
treasures and it’s also a great opportunity to peruse bargain bikes ready to ride away and stock up on
cycling essentials for sale.

The event is open to all on Sunday 22nd March, 10am to 2pm. Further information and how to book
Bikeability sessions can be found here: fromebikeproject.org/what-we-do/events
