Climate adaptation event moves to Cheese and Grain

Frome Town Council’s ‘Act to Adapt’ event on Tuesday 13th May has moved to the Cheese and Grain, in response to a high demand for tickets. The event is the first in a series, part of a project co-hosted with Somerset Wildlife Trust and funded by the Somerset Rivers Authority, that will explore the impact of climate change and ways communities can increase resilience and coping strategies.

Frome Town Council’s Climate Action Lead Matt Mellen said:

“It’s fantastic to see so much interest in the Act to Adapt event, with over 100 people already signed up. We’ve moved the meeting to the Cheese and Grain, so there’s plenty of room for even more people to join us. In a time of extreme weather events, strong community connections and knowing our neighbours may be just as important as a survival pack and a good store of tinned food. Please come and join us on 13th May to start to build those all-important connections and explore what we can do to support people and wildlife. Free tea and cake will be provided – everyone welcome.”
