Frome Town Council is pleased to offer young people aged 18-25 the opportunity to take part in work placements in Murrhardt, Germany.
Successful candidates will travel from either London Heathrow or Gatwick Airport and will fly out to Stuttgart. From there, they will travel by train to Murrhardt.
While there, participants will complete a 1-2 week work placement at a German business and stay with a host family.
Frome Town Council will offer participants support with setting up the work placements, connecting with a host family, and sorting travel arrangements. Travel expenses to and from Murrhardt will also be covered by the Town Council.
The placements will be unpaid, and participants will be expected to cover living expenses during their stay.
Taking advantage of an international work placement is always attractive to a potential employer to demonstrate your initiative and flexibility and is a great icebreaker in any job interview.
This opportunity will enable participants to pick up core skills related to their career of choice and softer transferable skills from experiencing a different culture.
Additional benefits include:
- Enhancing your CV;
- Improving communication skills or language skills;
- Building confidence and self-reliance;
- Learning a new language;
- Learning new working styles and building international networks.
This project has fantastic potential for the young people of Frome and anyone interested in experiencing a different working environment is encouraged to apply.
