Water repairs bring early waste collections

Scores of families could have weeks of early recycling and rubbish collections in June and July due to Bristol Water digging up a 410-metre stretch of the road in The Butts in Frome.

Plans have been put in place for waste collection crews to start work early to ensure they do not get caught up in congestion around the road works and traffic diversions from Monday 5 June.

Residents in and around The Butts with Monday collections are being urged to put out all waste containers on Sunday nights or by 6am at the latest on Mondays (the usual time is 7am) until the work is completed.

The work is due to take seven weeks in all but the road closure will be removed during 16-28 June for the Glastonbury Festival.
