Waste collection in Frome

FTC have been contacted by MDC with the following information about waste collection.

“Unfortunately for several weeks now there have been insufficient drivers due to national shortage and difficultly in recruiting suitable qualified staff to deliver the required service. This has meant rounds (primarily recycling) have not taken place each day. The service failures have been addressed operationally either by overtime working on the same day by other drivers, by delaying collections one day and working on Saturdays to catch up. SWP have worked closely with Kier to develop a recruitment plan using a combination of multiple specialist recruitment agencies.

There is no doubt that staff on the ground are committed and determined to deliver the service.

Somerset Waste Partnership is already reviewing the way it will deliver collection services for the short term and the long term.

If the whole road has not received a collection please leave your recycling at the kerbside and we will endeavour to collect the missed items within 48 hours.

We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused”.
