Volunteer Frome given the green light

Frome Town Council’s Town Matters Committee meeting was held last night at the Medical Practice – over 50 people came to the meeting for discussions around the future of volunteering in Frome, so thanks to everyone who came along.
The high point of the meeting was the green light given by Cllrs to launch to a new project – called Volunteer Frome. Volunteer Frome  is a volunteer base, designed to make it easier for organisations to recruit volunteers and for volunteers to have access to all the volunteering opportunities in the town.
Volunteer Frome is the result of a partnership between the Town Council and representatives from the Lions and Rotary Clubs in the town, and has been built alongside many local groups and organisations.
SPARK, a leading voluntary sector support organisation in Somerset, will be providing expertise in managing an online volunteering database along with dedicated staff to provide that essential face-to-face service. Keep checking our website for news about its launch date.
