The Frome Independent – local retailers encouraged to take part in survey

The second of this year’s Frome Independent markets took place on Sunday 6 April and early reports suggest that it was another bumper event with 250 stallholders taking part and thousands of visitors attending despite the cool showery conditions.

The Frome Independent (formerly known as the Frome Super Market) is becoming an important part of the town’s visitor economy.  More and more local businesses are opening their stores to take advantage of the footfall generated by the event.  But to help obtain firmer evidence of the impact of the market on the local economy, Frome Town Council is this week asking town centre businesses to take part in a brief survey.

A link to the survey which takes only a few minutes to complete can be found by clicking on: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/6Z3CL7C

The closing date for responses is Tuesday 15 April.  As an added incentive to take part, all respondents are being entered into a prize draw.  The prize is a £20 voucher to spend in the Garden Café in Stony Street.

Commenting on the survey, Cllr Peter Macfadyen, Chair of External Affairs at Frome Town Council said, ‘This is a unique opportunity for local businesses to feedback on the difference the Frome Independent has made to their own trading. We would encourage as many businesses as possible to take part.’

Gavin Eddy, Director of the Frome Independent said, ‘The Frome Independent has grown to be the largest and most talked-about market in the South West.  Measuring the impact it has on the town will help us better understand how we can develop it and target additional investment.’
