Nominate your policing heroes for special awards

Residents in Somerset are being asked to nominate their policing heroes with the launch of a series of new awards. ‘The Be Proud Awards’, which are jointly organised by Avon and Somerset police and crime commissioner Sue Mountstevens and chief constable Andy Marsh, highlight the very best of Avon and Somerset Constabulary. Acknowledging and rewarding the dedicated officers, staff and volunteers for their hard work. Formerly known as the Neighbourhood Policing Awards, the awards have been extended to recognise all those involved in fighting crime, supporting victims and bringing offenders to justice. The closing date for nominations, which can be made online or through filling in a nomination form, is 27 January 2017, with an independent panel selecting winners from across the policing areas, and overall winners for each category will be announced in May.
