Local businesses invited to talk strategy at Discuss & Do event

Frome Chamber of Commerce and Frome Town Council are hosting another of their popular ‘Discuss & Do’ evening sessions from 6pm to 8pm on Tuesday 23rd August at The Cornerhouse in Frome.

Following the overwhelming success of last month’s social media workshop, the chamber and town council team have now set a diary of themes for discussion until the end of the year. The August session on Business Strategy promises to provide interesting ideas and insights for all levels of business owners from sole traders and company managers, to retailers and anyone else running a business.

The event will be hosted by Alan Morden and Hannah Morden of HVM who will be leading a workshop on creativity and business strategy. Both Alan and Hannah have years of experience with international marketing firms like Saatchi and Saatchi and Ogilvy & Mather which they will share with the Group. They will open up the conversation about taking a vision and then communicating it effectively as part of a holistic strategy.

Town Centre Coordinator Mark Brookes said “In Frome we have a large number of small and medium sized businesses, and the one thing they all have in common is the need for a well thought out and effective strategy. Many of us work on a day-to-day basis without thinking ahead to the next potential business stream but having a strategy in place is key.  We hope that this next Discuss and Do session will provide people with an insight into how to become a little more strategic in their thinking.”

The Discuss and Do series is free to attend and also provides an excellent networking opportunity. Future sessions will cover subjects such as IT skills, Health and safety and Cloud computing. Places on the August Business Strategy session are limited.  People can register by emailing Mark Brookes at brookesm@frometowncouncil.gov.uk
