All invited to opening of the new Frome tennis courts

Frome Tennis Club, in association with Frome town council, is hosting an Open Day 9th July, from 2pm until 4pm at the Mary Baily playing fields – on the new tennis courts.

Chris Stringer, the town council’s Environment Manager said “Everyone is welcome, whether you’ve never tried your hand at tennis, occasionally play for fun or are a budding Andy Murray. There will be opportunity to have a go at tennis by having a rally with the new Mayor and taking points from Frome tennis club’s Coach – this event is open to all ages and abilities.”

There will be a number of coaches and players from the Frome tennis club on hand to give out tips and tricks, beginners to more experienced players can get some top advice. After 4pm the courts will be open for free-play; where anyone can have a quick game of tennis with friends and family.

John Price, Chair of Frome tennis club said: The Open day is being held in conjunction with the formal opening of the new community courts. We would like everyone to come and try the new courts and discover their tennis skills. It’s a great way to get fit, and much more fun than going to the gym”.
