All hands on deck – Frome Litter Picks rescheduled

Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Great British Spring Clean’ became more of a winter wonderland this weekend. Events all over the country were set to take place between 2 – 4 March, and many litter picks were organised across Frome. However, as all the litter was hidden beneath a deep blanket of snow, they had to be postponed.

Now that the snow has all melted away, you’ll be please to know some of the events are picking up very soon, and it’s really easy to get involved. Just turn up on the day and don’t forget to tell your friends.

The Stonebridge litter pick will now take place this Saturday (10 March). Come along on Saturday at 10.30am outside Tesco Express on Forest Road, the clean-up will finish at 12 noon. Councillor Adam Boyden said, “This litter pick is an annual event now and a great way to help keep where we live clean and litter free.”

Friends of the River Frome had also planned a pick, which will now be postponed until 7 April, 10am – 12 noon – meet by the Canoe Club.

Watch this space to find out when Frome Town Council will be taking on the Dippy, and Frome Football Club also have big plans for the area around the stadium.

All events can be attended by residents, young and old. Don’t forget to wrap up warm.
