European funding is coming to Frome

For the first time ever EU ‘LEADER’ funding to support economic growth and jobs is coming to Frome and surrounding villages.  The Heart of Wessex Local Action Group has received an outline agreement to deliver funding for rural businesses and communities from early 2015. Funding will be available for the following sectors:

  • small and micro-businesses
  • farm productivity and farm diversification
  • rural tourism
  • forestry productivity
  • culture and heritage
  • rural services

A FREE to attend Funding Advice Workshop is being held at the Cheese & Grain on Wednesday 10 December from 4.30 – 6.30 p.m.  At the event, you will find out what types of project are eligible for funding and get help with submitting a successful application.  To book your place, please click on http://www.heartofwessex.co.uk/ and complete the booking form.

The Heart of Wessex Local Action Group is a newly established partnership between Frome Town Council, the Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), Wiltshire Council, South Somerset District Council and Wincanton Community Venture (The Balsam Centre). It has been created to enable the delivery of EU LEADER funding from 2015 – 2020 across an area that includes parts of Mendip, South Somerset and South Wiltshire.
