Councillors consider major planning applications in Frome

At the Council meeting on 22 July, Councillors considered two major planning applications within Frome. Letters have been sent to Mendip District Council who will make the final decision, recommending that they should be refused.

Land To The East Of Southfield Farm Rodden Frome, Application for Reserved Matters Approval for Appearance, Landscaping, Layout and Scale following outline permission. Ref: 2013/1635.

This is for the erection of 213 dwellings (Phase One) it was agreed that, whilst the principle of residential development of this site is supported, this Reserved Matters application should be refused. Land at Caxton Road, Frome (Butler, Tanner & Dennis)

Demolition of factory buildings, design studio, former social club and garages to facilitate mixed use redevelopment of housing, neighbourhood centre, open space and associated works. Ref: 2015/1392
