Cllrs enthusiastic about new BTEC course helping young people get ready for work

On Wednesday evening Frome Town Cllrs and local people gathered at the conference room in the Medical Practice to discuss Town Matters. It was a really good evening so thank you to everyone who came along.

Cllrs heard from Neil Cameron, of the Allotment Association. The group is doing really well and has been recognised nationally for its success, so much so they have been asked to share their model with other towns.

Other highlights included a discussion around the excellent work that Hannah Thompson, Rose Hiron-Grimes and Terry Bishop are doing at Frome College by helping young people become ready for work and to become apprentices. FTC part funds Terry’s post as part of our support for increasing prosperity agenda. We are all very impressed by the new World of Work BTEC course they are pioneering.
